Brad King and Chris Sherbert are knowledgeable and courteous technicians. They replaced my water well pump within hours. A real pleasure to deal with the entire company. I know nothing of their service costs against their competitors' pricing. I never shopped around because I am impressed with their customer service relations. It makes me sleep soundly at night. This morning I had a problem with my neutralizer and Brad called me back within 10 minutes and resolved the issue over the phone. Again, super company!

This is long but worth the read if you have a low yield or low recovery well. Great experience with Mermaid Water Systems, especially Randy, Adam, Brad, and Patrick. I have a very low yield and low recovery (about 2 pints per minute) well. My old water filtration and softener system was put in by an “expert” in 2022. The way the system was set up, we could use about 8 gallons of water in the pressure tank before the well pump would come on, with a normal 2-5 gallon a minute well this would be fine. Due to the low storage capacity and very low recovery rate of my well, we had to be very careful about water usage, especially on days when the filter and softener needed to backwash and regenerate. Even after the system was adjusted for short regenerations, the well ran dry several times. I finally said enough is enough and called Mermaid. I worked with Randy and we found a product called the “Well Manager”. It is essentially a large tank with a computerized control panel. The system replaces a traditional pressure tank. The control panel runs the well pump on a timer based on the well recovery rate. There are safety mechanisms, such as flow and pressure detection, and electrical amperage monitoring, that will shut the well pump off if it begins to over pump the well. Essentially, the system “sips” water from the well and deposits it in the tank whether you are using water in the house or not. It will do this until the tank is full. Currently, it is set up so my well pump runs for 40 seconds every 28 minutes when the tank is not full. The settings are easily adjustable to balance water intake and pump cycles. When the house needs water, it is drawn from the tank by a constant pressure pump. There is a sediment filter before it goes into the tank (not a concern to have it between the well and tank since the pump is operated on a timer instead of a pressure switch). After the tank, the water goes to a Kinetico filter and softening system, then through a UVC light to the faucets/appliances. I can actually do multiple loads of wash, run the dishwasher whenever, do everything concurrently if I want. The well manager continues to refill the tank by “sipping” from the well around the clock. It automatically shuts off when the tank is full. I’m amazed, it saved me from drilling a new well where results are not guaranteed; I could have had the same low yield and recovery issues. Thanks to Mermaid and this system, we can live a normal water usage life! I wish I would have called them from the beginning! The professionalism, clean easy-to-follow plumbing, and toleration of all of my (many) questions really set the Mermaid team above any other plumbers I have used in the past. Again, Randy, Brad, Adam, and Patrick were great. I’ll call them for all of my plumbing needs!
