Although both men were engineers, neither had experience in the water treatment industry. Bill and Jim's research generated new ideas and created the determination to build a system better than those already on the market. They based their water conditioner design on the following principles:

A water conditioner should:

• Operate based on the demand for treated water - not arbitrary electrical timers.
• Provide a continuous supply of soft water, even while the equipment is regenerating or cleaning itself - unlike most electrical equipment.
• Operate without using electricity for safe, simple and reliable service.

Throughout the years, Kinetico Incorporated has continued to develop and expand its product line. The company has evolved into a multifaceted organization that produces a wide variety of water treatment equipment for a multitude of applications. Kinetico's innovative product line now covers all major water treatment markets. All management, design, technical support plus manufacturing and assembly for the US Market is carried out from Kinetico’s 80 acre Headquarters and Manufacturing Campus in Newbury, Ohio
